    mountain bikerUpon securing funding for the project, the documentary is anticipated to take approximately nine months to complete. This is divided roughly into one month of pre-production, three months of production (with principal photography taking place in the spring and summer of 2009), and five months of post-production.

    Pre-production: 4 weeks (spring-summer 2009)
    Production: 12 weeks
    Post-production: 20 weeks

    Howell at the Moon Productions, a fully digital production house based in Wenatchee, Wash., and specializing in documentary filmmaking, will provide all necessary project administration, production crews, equipment and post-facilities.

    OUTREACH AND DISTRIBUTION

    Film festivals:
    Entries will be made into major films festivals such as Sundance and the Seattle International Film Festival and into festivals focusing on sports and recreation and environmental issues.

    Distributorship:
    An appropriate distributor will be sought to assist in placing the movie with NetFlix, Amazon and other major DVD/Documentary outlets.

    TV broadcast:
    Regional broadcast with PBS affiliates around the Northwest will be pursued, followed by submission to appropriate national programs such as Independent Lens and cable outlets such as the Documentary Channel and the Sundance Channel.

    Public screenings:
    Screening tours of appropriate venues (college campuses, bike advocacy groups, conservation groups, community events). The documentary will available for bookings anywhere in the U.S. via the project website.

    Webcasting:
    The movie will be formatted for delivery over the Internet in various online film festivals, or made available for download or streaming through specialty online distributors.
